DIABETESThe term diabetes in its common usage denotes sugar diabetes (diabetes mellitus). The word comes from a Greek term for siphon or to flow through, this refers to excessive flow of urine and consequently an excessive thirst. There are other forms of diabetes such as, diabetes insipidus (a hormone imbalance with the same type of symptom, an enormous flow of urine and it's accompanying excessive thirst). Bronzed diabetes has an association with haemochromatosis (a progressive disease characterised by abnormal iron deposits in many bodily organs associated with the bronzing of the skin, diabetes, and an impairment of liver and pancreas functions).
