GALLBLADDER DISORDERSThe gallbladder during childhood or even early adulthood very rarely causes a problem. The increasing occurrence of gallstones usually happens from middle age onwards. The gallbladder is a small pear shaped sac situated underneath and attached to the liver by a fibrous tissue (consisting of, containing, or resembling fibres). The removal of the gallbladder by a surgeon is the last resort, but as there is no need for the gallbladder by the digestive system if this is the only cure of the problem then its removal has little known long term effect. METABOLIC DISORDERSGallstones are the principal disorders associated with the gallbladder. Only about 20% of people who have gallstones suffer any symptoms or complications with them. There are 3 types of gallstones, the Cholesterol, the Mixed and the Pigment. The most prolific being the Cholesterol type as most gallstones associated with humans are made up of cholesterol.
